Is Revenge Ever Justified?

Is revenge ever justified? I think it depends. When revenge is justified, it should help others in the society. For example, when there is a criminal who is selling drugs, and then the heroes have made their revenge, then that means the revenge is justified. However, when the revenge is not justified, then it is just increasing the criminal rate in a country. Also, the revenge caries greatly depending on the perspective of the people involved. For example, if the target is a bad guy or criminal, then the revenge is justified. However, sometimes the revenge is not justified because you might have killed the wrong people. Sometimes, the concept "an eye for an eye" does and doesn't apply to this idea. When this concept applies to the justified revenge, then it is worth for people to make their revenge. When the concept doesn't applies to the justified revenge, then it means that the revenger revenge for their own profit or something like that.

When Is Risk Worth Taking?

When is the risk worth taking? I think the risk is worth taking when it is meaningful. A risk is meaningful when it draws us closer to our values, our vision, or it fully realizes our core capabilities. Even though the risk is worth taking if its meaningful, but how to decide the risk is worth taking and meaningful? Some people make choices based on their emotional biases born of personal experience. If people aren't fully aware of the source of our biases, they take their risk base on their decision of reasoning. To me, I think the risk worth taking when the outcome of the risk has greater percentage of success. Also, another chance that the risk worth taking is when the situation is urgent, and there is only one choice to make in order to resolve the problem. Since there are not much choices to make to solve the problem or situation, we must take a chance to make a risk, no matter the risk is make based on emotional bias or reasoning.

What Is Friendship?

Friendship is a relationship between two people who hold mutual affection for each other. Everyone must a special friendship experience in their life. I have a special friendship, and one of them is person who have been my friend and classmate since first grade in elementary. Her name is called Joyce. We are classmate for 6 years, but after when I dropped our of school, we don't have any contact with her now. She is in Taipei Wesley Girls High School for her middle and high school. I had a great time with her when we were friend in the same school. Another special friendship that I had is with another girl called Melody Wu. We have been best friends for almost 4 years. However, after this year, she is going to US the boarding school. What can a friendship do? I think the friendship can help you on your career and job in the future, because having a friend in your life, they will be happy to help you with anything, as long as you help them at anytime when the need help.

What is Dignity?

Dignity means the quality or state of being worthy of respect. A dignity person can be poise and self-respect. There are many people who lived with dignity, and also, they died with dignity. For example, Helen Keller. Although she is already deaf and blind, but she didn't quit; she kept learning hand gestures and finally, she graduate from University of Harvard. Afterwards, she had started a organization charity called International Blind Charity, in order to make other blind people can get the equal rights. Another example of people live with dignity, those suicide bomber terrorist. I considered them as people with dignity because they are willing to sacrifice themselves to their religious. Imagine how horrible it is for a person to know that he/she is going to suicide by bombing himself/herself up. The Tank Guy in China. He is considered as a person who died in the Chinese Revolution. He sacrifice himself in revolution because he doesn't want the soldiers to get into the schools, so he lied himself in the ground and the tanks roll over that guy. Overall, people who died with dignity should get a medal, because they are brave to show the society isn't what the governments want only, but only the people lives in the kingdom.

Happiness is...

Happiness is a mental and emotional state of well-being of a person. Sometimes, the happiness can be a person get their internet in Pacific American School, or a simple happiness can just be getting a kiss from your lover. To me, the most important thing that will make me happy, is to receive a gift from the person you love. Psychologist Ed Diener, author of Happiness: Unlocking the Mysteries of Psychological Wealth, describe that happiness is a combination of life satisfaction and having more positive emotions than negative emotions. Also, Martin Seligman, who is the author of Authentic Happiness, state that happiness have three parts: pleasure, engagement, and meaning. Pleasure is the feel good part of happiness, and engagement refers to living a good life of work, family, friends, and hobbies. Meaning refers to using our strengths to contribute to a larger purpose. Two psychologists above are correct, because most of our happiness comes for our life and we have good feelings when we have happiness.

Compare and Contrast The Time Machine (Book and 1960 Movie)

Almost every book had a movie version of its own. The Time Machine, written by H. G. Wells, was filmed to movies in 1960 and 2002, respectively. In both movie and book, the Time Traveler, whose name was George, had went on a time travel. Also, George met the Elois and the Morlocks, and he saved Weena, a Eloi who almost drown in the river. After George saved Weena and found out his time machine was gone, he realized his time machine was hidden in the pedestal of Sphinx Statue. However, the director of the movie sometimes changed some details from the story. In the movie version, many details were different from the story version. For example, George had stopped in 1966, but in the story, George didn't stopped during his time travelling. Also, the biggest difference was the death of Weena; in the story, Weena died, but in the movie, Weena survived and fall in love with George. Finally, the sequence of the events were different, too. In the book, the Time Traveler told the theories first, then told the guest about the story; in the movie, they started with the dinner after the time travelling first, then told the theories second.

How Important Is Status??

The status is not so important to me, but to others, the status is very important to them because they think the status shows how popular and important you are in the community. Most people use their properties or possession to show their status. The clothing brand, computer types, the accessories that people have, all these shows how rich they are and how important and influential people they are to this world. Some other people use their social skills or their prettiness to show their status. They use the number of their friend and the fame of their friend to show they are powerful and how cool they are. To me, I think the most important thing to have a important status is what kind of person you are. How your personality shows the importance of the status?? Your good personality will helps you get good friends with good personality, too. For almost everyone, they think their popularity of their boyfriend girlfriend is the most important elements of important status.

What Urban Legend Have You Heard Before?

Urban legend is a form of modern folklore consisting of stories that may or may not have been believed by their tellers to be true. I think the most common urban legend is the story of Big Foot. Big Foot is basically a ape-like, furry, large creature lives in forest. I think this urban legend is quite old and common known to everyone. Another urban legend is also a common known, "Yeti". It is an ape-like creature to inhabit in Himalaya region of Nepal and Tibet. I think all of these urban legends are sometimes well-known for scaring little kids who aren't behave well. Somehow, people always have some pictures of them walking by, but however, most people believed that the pictures are true. Another urban legend movie recently is "Harry Potter", this is the most commonly well known urban legend movie in the whole world. Until now, people still believe that there are such thing as magic in this world.

What Will The World Looks Like After 50 Years?

I think the world after 50 years from now will looks like flying car all over the sky, the skyscrapers are build higher than it is now, on the zebra crossing, the human and robots walked together. For my, the way that I look at the future is almost positive, but somehow, there will be some negatives; for example, in the future there will be more unpredictable or unknown disease which might causes most or all of the human on Earth died within few weeks, and this situation sounds like the movie "Resident Evil". There is still some other possibilities of the world being destroy by us indirectly: the robots that we have create after few years, might rebel, kill us all, and take over the whole world; the apes that have been injecting the medication of curing the Alzheimer patient may start to rebel, too, and also take over the world. At last, my final statement that I'm going to make is that I believe in what I believe, and I believe that our future will be great!!!!

Why Are We Fascinated by the Unknown

All the objects in the world have their own fascinated point of view. Sometimes, we are fascinated by all the things in this world. Somehow, the objects attracted us and trying to fascinate us. The natural landscapes are one of the fascinated thing in the world. For example, the well-known Stonehenge, which located in the England; at first I saw the Stonehenge, I was amazed by its size and its shape. The another object that are fascinating us can be a person or a group of people; if you know them after a long period of time, and he suddenly acted cute and funny, then he might be the fascinated one among those people. Sometimes, a thing or a person might attract us by using their "silence weapon", their invisible "charm waves". For example, when you walked pass by a person, you will feel his/her charm and elegant waves. Well, some people have that kind of talent since he/she was born.

What Would You Do If You Visit The Past

Would I visit the past if I could? Yes, I will.If I visit my past. What would I do if I really visit the past? I would like to change my answers on the test that I took since elementary school. It won't create a paradox in the future because it is just changing few letters on my transcript. Also, I could have rob the bank, steal all the money, and secure the money in my house. The fact is, I would like to visit my grandmother and grandfather of my dad. In order to visit them without scaring them, I won't tell them that I am their great granddaughter. However, my main target is to change every mistakes I have make; the mistakes change anything in the future, maybe a little, but won't change my personality. Since I could have changed my past, I would also be happy to change other people's life. For those people I don't like, I would go back to the past and ruin their life; for the people that I like (boys, friends), I would just slightly "remind" him/her that I am the one who will always be there for them if they got problems.

What Are You Willing To Sacrifice??

Have I ever sacrifice something in order to help others or just making someone happy?? The answer is yes!! When I was little, I like a boy in our grade. In order to make me noticeable for him, I gave my fine reputation away; I acted silly, stupid, and sometimes even weird. After I realized how stupid I was, I felt a little bit ashamed; now I realized if a girl wanted herself noticeable to a boy, she should just be herself. After all, acting like a stupid only makes my reputation worse. However, sometimes acting stupid works; the boy I like was happy and he told me I make his day. One compliment from him makes me so beloved. I think I realized how funny I was only to make him happy, but also makes others laughed. Now, I spend most of my weekend time just to stay with my great and grand parents. I feel really grateful to have time spending with my family elders. Spending time with them makes me feel I have done responsibilities of being a descendant. Anyhow, I kind of like the feelings of helping and making other people happy. Sometimes, making others happy makes me feel more important to the people I love and once I loved.

What are the 5 Traits that a Survivor Should Have

I think the 5 traits that a survivor should have is: body strength, intelligence, stress resistance, courageousness   , and the ability to response to any situations and dangers. I put body strength in first place because I think body strength is the most important trait in these traits. We need body strength so walk, run, sleep, and also survive; if we do not have body strength, we cannot survive in the wilderness. When we are in danger, we need our body strength to run away or escape from the danger. Second, the intelligence, we need intelligence for solving mysteries or questions. If our foods in our shelter are gone, then the intelligence can be use to solve who steal the foods. Third, the stress resistance, this is also required for surviving skills because you will need to be able to resist to stress. For example, if you tried to fish, but you kept mess up on fishing, you needed to be able to take stress or you'll just kept failing on anything. Forth, the courageousness, it is important because you will need the courage to take a chance on everything in the wild. Adventure takes courageousness, make a choice takes courageousness, and other things also take courageousness. Lastly, the ability to response to any situations and dangers. I think this is almost as important as body strength. You needed this ability to escape from dangers when you are really in a dangers. It helps when you tried to survive in the wilderness.

The Most Dangerous Game Pre-reading Question

I think animals have feelings too, like humans. They feel sad, lonely, dissatisfy, fear, love, and other emotions. They must feel terrified when they realized they are being hunted. We will feel fears when we knows that we are being hunted by other animals, or by humans, so as animals. I believe that we need to hunt animals. We hunt the animals because if we don't hunt the animals down, the number of the animals will increase and takes over the wilderness. However, humans can't over-hunted the animals, or else those animals will become extinguish animals. For example, the buffaloes, they are considered a species of extinguish animals in the whole world. The most important part in ecosystem is the food web and the food chain. If fox don't eat rabbits, then rabbits will be overstock in the wilderness and they will take over the whole world. So that's why I think it is very necessary for human to hunt the animals. Also, I think it's not so necessary for people to eat meat now, because some people can survive without eating meats, like vegetarians. Sometimes, meat gives you some kind of certain nutrition which only meat gives you.

#1 Rule For Successful Class Environment

Rules are important to everyone, whether you're in a company or a school, obeying the rules is very, very important. Personally, I think some of the rules are unnecessary, because the rules are always told us to do what we already know in elementary school. For example, "show up on class on time" is the basic rule when you go to school and class. However, these kinds of rules are still necessary for each student to obey, because some of the students won't follow these rules (if they are those kinds of bad student, of course). I think the most important rules are to respect your teacher and your classmate. If you respect your teacher, then they will also respect you, which means that if you raise your hand when you have a question, no speaking while the teacher is speaking, listen to the instruction of teacher, hand in your homework in time, and show up in class on time. It is also very important that follow every other rules; following other rules that is set up by teacher shows your respect to the teacher. If you also respect your classmate, they will also respect you. What does respecting your classmate means?? Respect your classmate means you do not interrupting them while they're trying to learn. Following every rule also helps you to respect your classmate. Assume that you break the school rule of being late for class, then maybe the whole class will be punish only because you are late for being in the class. Shows up on time indicate the respect to your teacher and your classmate. It shows that you care about class and classmate. So, I think respect is a perfect rule for students.
